Getting to Know Dave Madsen
Dave Madsen has had his ups and downs through life. When it comes to media management, Dave is the guy to turn to. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, a graduate of University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in journalism, Madsen worked at KTIV in Sioux City for 29 years.
The down part in his life was when he was told by KTIV he would be getting let go. So he was stuck jobless, until Morningside College approached him about running the Mass Communication department. He instantly jumped on that opportunity, and has been head of the Mass Communication department now for three years.
In Madsens years leading up to Morningside he also held many other jobs along the way. While in college he work for KETV in Omaha. After college, while working for KTIV, he ran a children’s show, and also does magic.
Dave has big plans for MCTV, which is the Morningside college television station, are to get news on during dinner time, and for there to be a set news cast. Eventually this will all happen, but it will take a lot of time and work.
In the end Dave could not be any happier with how all this turned out. He had a great transition coming to Morningside and is hoping turn the Mass Communication department in the right direction.
