Gasoline Truck Causes Flooding

A Texaco gasoline truck caused major problems on 48th and Correctionville Rd this week.

The truck overturned, causing gas floods throughout the area. Four families were evacuated because of the gas. The gas ended up in the streets and ditches as well, causing cars to be rerouted through side streets.

The situation was serious for two hours until the gas was flushed away by firemen. Fire Chief Charles Hochandel says: “The firemen followed catastrophe and hazmat procedures set up beforehand for just such an occurence.” The result was a safe incident with no injuries.
