This article is about the football game last Saturday between the Miami Hurricanes and the Louisville Cardinals. The article starts by talking about how fun the team looks this year, and includes a quote from their head coach talking about how excited the team was tonight while giving props to Louisville for being a good team. The writer then gives off some individual stats, including notable performances form both teams. After that, the writer finishes off with an in depth game summary, including many notable plays.

I think this article is a very well written one. I really like when a local paper for one team includes the stats for both teams. I am also a fan of how they included a recap of every big play, which gives you a very good summary of the game if you did not watch it. I also like sports articles when they include quotes from a coach or player, which this article did. This is about as good as it gets as a sports recap in my opinion.

OK, Bryson. I would hope the media covering major college sports would do what you describe. It does get spottier as you go down, from major college to small college to high school. By the time you get to high school sports writers you may not have writers or sports writers doing the stories.

The Miami Herald can hire the best.
