One tree at 102 11th Ave. resulted in a broken leg of firefighter Bob Harwood.

A Calico cat belonging to Suzanne and Samantha Decker climbed 50 feet up in an oak tree, causing the fire station to come to the resuce.

Bob Harwood climbed up 50 feet to retrieve the cat, but on his way down a limb broke at approximately 15 feet. This resulted in a broken leg for Harwood and he was transported to St. Luke’s hospital.

Harwood is doing “just fine” at St. Luke’s Hospital in South Iowa. As for the cat, it is doing fine also- it landed on top of Bob in the fall.
