Target Stockholder Report

throughout these past couple years through covid and the aftermath of covid target was able to thrive and acell with these lows in mankind, like it was explained through the 2021 financial report the CEO stated that “In that time, we’ve grown by tens of billions of dollars, through 19-consecutive quarters of comp-store growth, including 11-straight quarters of growth that preceded COVID-19”. This statement is just mind blowing that they were able to stay afloat during this historical event. A pandemic that decimated businesses large and small, and they didn’t just keep the company afloat they also kept their employees and their families afloat and comfortable financially. This was shown by the ceo saying “we’ve invested more than ever in our team members and their families, contributed to meaningful gains in diversity, equity and inclusion, and organized significant resources through Target Forward to support environmental and social sustainability for the decades ahead”. With this stated it shows that target isn’t just about making money but it’s also very family oriented. And If that gets known to the general public it can be very good for target and might draw in more people since they’re known to give back heavily to their employees and public.

Florida hospitals cant handle hurricane

After reading the Ny times article about florida hospitals and the new hurricane Ian, they said that this hurricane “could end up ranking as one of the most catastrophic hurricanes to strike the United States in the past decade”. As more people looked into the hospitals predicting people will be either injured or killed, the local hospitals could old hole up to a category 2 hurricane and with this being a category 5 that is a huge problem. With reading further in Punta Gorda, where Ian made its second landfall on Wednesday, 100 percent of the roads within a mile of a hospital were projected by the researchers to be flooded by a Category 2 storm”. Which proves that these hospitals need to better prepare and should honestly already be prepared due to the fact that hurricanes happen so often in florida.

Finally if you continue to read the article it also states that do to the warmer climates in florida these smaller hurricanes are jumping to a category 4&5 super quick. it also stated that “sometimes overnight. Hurricanes, fueled by warming ocean water, are also unleashing more rain”. All these issues should be addressed and dealt with before the hurricane happened because if you get another huge hurricane like Ian the Category 5 that just passed through if anything bigger it probably has the ability to wipe florida off the map

Reflection essay

The process for our first paper was one that the most effort was given when rewriting the essay in the correct form.  After reviewing it over zoom, I was able to restructure it in order for it to  better meet the criteria and be more informative.  The amount of time I spent on the backend could have been avoided had I spent more time on the initial draft. As a result, I felt rushed and it wasn’t my best work. I also wish I spent more time on proofreading after writing a better initial essay.

My next challenge and the most difficult part of the assignment for me was finding 3 articles about the war in Ukraine that were from a credible source.  There were many conflicting articles and not many went into  depth with details and actual facts.  In fact, it was difficult to determine what the true facts were. Due to the inconsistencies in what I found, it was difficult to combine the information together and making a new article.

The biggest problem I encountered was actually understanding the expectations and the specifics for this assignment once I was able to have the zoom meeting and get clarification I was better able to understand what was needed and required.

Brett’s favorite pet ever

In class today we were tasked with interviewing our classmates and I got the honor of interviewing Brett again. when interviewing I was tasked to ask him what his favorite animal, and after a second of thinking he said that his favorite animal is horses. When i asked him why horses out of every animal that could be considered a pet he said “Because I grew up around horses”. I then fallowed up with asking what his favorite thing to do with horses was and he responded with “going out and riding in a pasture”.

After Ross came over and checked on us he told me to get more information and that I didn’t have enough information. so i continued to interview Brett. Brett followed up with the reason he also chose horses was because “they were the first animal outside of dogs that he was introduced to as a kid” and that was because his grandfather owned some horses. Brett later said that they had a ¼ horse and that he actually owned 2 horses growing up one named Buffy and the other named Bell, and the reason he had 2 was “because they sold one of his and got another”.

Russia is asking for peace treaties after recent blitz bu ukraine and sending russian forces to retreat and beg for mercy

It has been 6 months since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and after several failed blitzkriegs, Russia is bogged down in a war that has veered off course. I said a lot of the western countries has been sending aid and supplies to help push back Russia. Russian forces having withdrawn to the eastern side of the Oskil River, about 10 miles east of the city of Izium, with the river appearing to represent the new front line in the region. That would show that  Ukrainian forces have driven Russian troops from almost all of Kharkiv

Due to the heavy losses that Russia has been taking they have looked to go after the civilians. Their new target is depriving people of light and heat by causing power outages across Ukraine

. It was reported that Russia attacked  civilian infrastructure which left much of Kharkiv city without power or water. Along with the attacks it was announced that 2 further missile strikes were heard later in the evening, with a combination of the 2 events left about 130 establishments without power.

It is happening in another Russian missile has hit within 300 yards from a nuclear plant launch far from the front lines. Although Russia’s most recent retreat they can still hit nuclear weapons which is a real threat to Ukraine.

As Russia retreats Putin has only one option

As Putin has been put into a place where retreating is the only option he has leaned to his people for support. Thus meaning that Putin as of yesterday has put in a draft order due to the fact that the ukrainian troops and military has pushed russia so far back and killed so many russians that putin putin a draft. With this he has threatened Nuclear weapons, but for some reason hasn’t done anything. The thought behind that is because if he were to use nukes then he’d have the whole world out for his head.

scavenger hunt

Today for the class scavenger hunt I was tasked to find a rubber band and a knock knock joke. However I was only able to interview 2 different people. One being a rounder individual guy named Ridge and the other a shorter guy named KJ.

When asked for a quote Ridge gave this deep sigh and began thinking after a while he was able to come up with this quote and said yesterday is history tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift thats why its called the present. If you really take time to thing about it that is a really inspirational and meaning quote.

To change things up I asked KJ for a knock knock joke, and he seemed to be in a rush so I got a simpler response. The joke when like this: knock knock, whos there? who, who who. are you an owl?! The knock knock joke was short simple funny and to the point

Finally, after searching the campus up and down for a rubber band and already ready to submit the assignment without one I was pressured to go out again and look. and just to my luck I took one step outside of the library and there was a rubber band sitting right on the ground ready for my taking, so I walked back inside sat down and re wrote this assignment because I was told it wasn’t good enough to submit.

It is happening again in another Russian missile has hit within 300 yards from a nuclear plant launch far from the front lines. Although Russia’s most recent retreat they can still hit nuclear weapons which is a real threat to Ukraine. The strike on Monday landed near the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant, some 160 miles west of another nuclear complex that has been a focus of global concern. if Russia hits one of Ukraines 4 nuclear plants it could be bad enough to knock them off the map.
