Kristene Honomichl is among the athletes in track and xcountry, but at the NAIA Cross Country Championship, she has become a brutal opponent. Leading the GPAC Kristene came in 61st in the nation at nationals, and tends to stay within the top 5 of all her meets when shes running. However it wasn’t always like this, when interviewed about what it was like growing up her answers were a real head scratcher.

From a young age Kristine liked loved to be active outside but she was very involved with family. When asked what a typical day was like in the track stars life it was simple and to the point. “A typical day for me would’ve had to have been waking up early with my parents, sleeping in the car on the way to grandma’s. My mom would drop me off, have a cup of coffee with my grandma, I would eat cereal. We would wait for my grandpa to get up, if he wasn’t up already. Mom would talk to them and then take my older sister to school. I would drink coffee with my grandpa while watching the Nick Junior programs until it was time for grandma to put on the Price is Right. Between breakfast and the show I would either be outside playing with chalk or if i brought my bike over, or if it was cold I would color or annoy my grandpa. Also I learned how to play card games. The price is right usually meant it was lunch time and I would ask my grandma always for mac and cheese. It always tasted better when she made it and gave me a special spoon that I only ate from”. So from an early stage in life she was always on the run and with a cup of coffee. But it wasn’t always like this in the Honomichl household, Kristine Explained that her mom would come home at the same time every day. She was very caring but strict to and her sister. So her and her sister had a very adult life from a very young age, especially since her dad wasn’t around very much throughout the year due to farming in a different state. She stated that he was “raised with the mindset of a simple farmer, he grew up with 7 brothers so him having 2 daughters was hard for him” and that he had to understand to speak to them differently.

However everyone has a simple childhood but life took a turn far away from fairies and rainbows when she hit middle school Kristine took a huge liking in sports, but what really caught her eye was basketball. She described basketball as everything she ever wanted and more and was she in for a shock. Leading her small school basketball team kristene found herself in love with the sport of basketball quickly gaining eyes of recruiters as soon as she stepped on the high school court. After talking to several scouts and touring all across the nation Kristine fell in love with a small Morningside University in Sioux City Iowa, about 8 hours from home. When Kristine got to Morningside she quickly made a name for herself. After finding herself severely unhappy and at a depressive mindset the stud guard had to look elsewhere to let herself go. Kristine said that she was lost and needed to find herself again because shes young and in college, so she turned to track. the switch to track could have been one of the best decisions she could’ve made with little to no experience and full of energy Honomichl tool to long distance running and cross country, and in a matter of no time Kristine was dominating the GPAC on all levels.

Although, her time at morningside came to an end she found herself wanting a masters degree in psychology and landed herself at Dordt University who previously placed themselves at 8 in the nation for cross country and Track

NA 14 President of Peru was arrested

Former President Castillo announced plans to dissolve Congress and install an emergency government, to prevent the looming impeachment vote by lawmakers. In his case this didn’t work because Dina Boluarte became Peru’s first female President on wednesday after the former president was arrested. Either way Castillo was going to leave office because out of the 130 lawmakers 101 voted to have him impeached. This arrest of the president is also good because the United States is now urging the leader to “reverse” the move and “allow Peru’s democratic institutions to function according to the Constitution. If this does get reversed then the United States could possibly try and get someone who holds power in office and open up more trade and possibly economic trade, which Peru leads the world in exports of Copper Ore, Gold , Refined Copper, Petroleum Gas, and Animal Meal and Pellets. All things that don’t seem to important and are overlooked but are key items to the economy because we get a lot of our resources from them.

Midland Zoo Icon Homer the polar bear dies at 16

At approximately 7 am Homer was found floating in the pool after his feeding. The other polar bears were quickly removed from the enclosure to prevent any other altercations. The cause of death is unknown and is under investigation, however death for the Midland Zoo is not uncommon because that is the third death this month following a Giraffe and Bobcat. Something needs to change before they run out of animals whether it’s the staff or the enclosures and how the animals are living, either way their reputation is declining and shutting down at this rate with animals dying may be in the near future.

pr news Golden Retriever Poisoned at Thanksgiving after eating dinner rolls

The story is news because people believe that dogs can eat almost anything but that is evidently wrong because these things are popping up everywhere on what they cant eat

The audience is all dog owners of the world

To bring awareness to dog owners with new knowledge that dogs can’t have bread dough

To the Company publishing the story this is a good story to post because it is trying to bring awareness and stories like this can blow up

This isn’t like any story I’ve done for this class because all the other stories ive done are mainly revolving around people and other world news

NA 13 Nebraska Football HC Arrested Domestic Assault

Nebraska is in a very tough spot since their temporary head coach was arrested on domestic assault charges. It’s bad enough that their first coach scott frost was fired then their temporary coach was arrested, and according to school policy he was placed on administrative leave. However, the school hired former Temple, Baylor and Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule to take over the position. This could be a very big move for nebraska and maybe put them back on top with all that knowledge at the new head coaching position. although Rhule could be a good coach but from personal experience going through coaches so quickly can take a toll on a team.

Deepening roots

Morningside is expanding the ag department and made a state of the art greenhouse. I would consider this news because ag is what keeps america fed. the target audience for this is potential ag students showing them that we have a good ag program and the readers of the story would gain knowledge of how good our ag program is. along with this morningside gains good publicity because a alumni funded the green house.

NA 12 N.Y.’s Child Welfare System Racist

New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services should protect children without putting families at risk, and it seems like what everyone would expect they fail. the NY times stated that “For decades, Black families have complained that the city’s child welfare agency, the Administration for Children’s Services, is biased against them”. Which is mind blowing to me especially since what has gone on in the past and how far we’ve come as a nation. and It turns out that most of the employees agree. there was a survey done of all the agency’s employees and the results were more than 50 Black and Hispanic frontline caseworkers and agency managers in Brooklyn and the Bronx, along with many parents and advocates, described a “predatory system that specifically targets Black and brown parents” and subjects them to “a different level of scrutiny. Which is insane at some point the system needs to be fixed and apparently deracialized, because if the system was able to get fixed and deracialized more families would let them in to help and the agents could do more good then what the do now, harm the family

NA11 Russia Attacks Poland

It was reported on tuesday november 15th that russia had launched 2 missiles that happened to land on polish soil and happened to kill 2 farmers. This is super bad because poland is part of NATO and there is talks about nato filing for a Article 4 which would mean declaring war. This could also be a good thing because the whole world is tired of Russia’s attacks on ukraine so if there is the whole world against russia the war would be over pretty quick if there was a war at all because NATO could probably threaten Russia into surrendering and charging them with war crimes.

So hopefully this can be resolved soon because if not since i’m a guy whos of age I can be selected for the draft if it were to happen.

Amid continued military setbacks, Putin will not attend the G20 summit.
