Catered to Katie

I would consider this article news as it gives a story of someone’s life and what she had to go through to survive and find her passion. The potential audiences could be incoming students that aren’t sure what they are wanting to do with their lives. It shows that school gives you many options to choose from, whether its the connections you make or the degree you earn.

The purpose is to open peoples eyes to different opportunities and show them that you don’t only get a degree here at Morningside. The readers gain knowledge of the school and faculty of this university. The benefit of this is that it clears the air of new students that are not sure of what they want to do. Morningside gains publicity from this by hearing a student to faculty’s story of how they got to where they are.

Elon Musk and Twitter

With the recent overtake of Twitter, Elon Musk had made the executive decision to fire over half of the staff and create an ultimatum for the rest of the workers. Elon had given the rest of the workers 36 hours to decide whether to stay in the company or leave. If they had decided to stay, they would need to put their work into overdrive. If they quit, they would get a 3 months severance pay.

Many users of the site are saying that Musk had killed the well used company and will put it under. Others feel that he is going to start another great company that will change the world.

The news value of this article is that Twitter’s control had been taken over by Musk and that thousands of people are losing their jobs at this corporation. This affects the workers and the users of Twitter as there are many changes coming in the future. The lead drew me in as I am a fan of Elon Musk and what he has done.

Angelo- Confident

Angelo Martinez, a junior says that he feels confident in his ability in Rainbow Six Siege. In 2019, Angelo and his Esports team, had gone to a tournament. He felt very confident in himself and his team to win the entire tournament. They were steam rolling through the competition and was on top of the world.

Out of 100 teams, they fought to place third in the entire tournament. The top two teams that had finished above them, were professional Esports players. This only boosted his confidence as it showed him that he has the ability to play at that level of competition.

In the moment of placing third, Angelo was very pissed as he felt that he could have done better in the tournament and win it all. He says “I’m sorry guys, this is on me”. He blamed himself in the moment and apologized to his teammates. His teammates replied and said that you did your best and it is the teams fault.

Defense’s are taking over the league

Defense’s in the NFL have statistically left lower numbers of points on the scoreboard within the past five years. The defense’s of this era have learned to adapt to the offense’s by adding a second high safety to counter the harsh passing game. Many teams see that this addition really helps the defense and it is taking over the game.

This article affects coaches, players, or fans as it affects the teams that they watch or play for. It may help them understand why the teams are playing the way they are. The lead was good as it drew my attention for the article. The news value for this article is that it shows why the teams in the NFL are you doing so much better defensively.
