He is famously known for being an icon to the gay community as he is a well known drag queen that became famous in the 80’s. As I said in class, biography is different from a profile because it isn’t selective. Bios don’t have a specific story to tell. If you think about RuPaul, what do you think stands out. Unique? Rule-breaker? Entrepreneur? One of those might provide a frame. My bet is that he also had to overcome LOTS of obstacles on his way to success. Those could also provide frames for “understanding” RuPaul.
