By Alyssa Nehring–“What do I do next?” is something most college ask themselves. However, some of Morningside’s Graphic Design and Advertising majors might receive a little more clarity at the Meet the Pros Conference in Omaha, February 15th and 16th.
“Meet the Pros has been going on for forty years. It basically started out with a few designers to show students what it is like to have a professional career in Graphic Design and/or Advertising,” said John Kolbo, Graphic Design Professor.
A major benefit of this event is the amount of professionals that will be attending the event to help students advance on their path to a professional career. These professionals will be giving lectures and different demonstrations in their field. They will also be giving critiques on student’s portfolios and different panel discussions. Some are even offering interviews for internships and other jobs.
“This is a really fun event because students get to meet other students and see their work,” said Kolbo.
Around 350 students are expected to attend the Meet the Pros, around ten of those being from Morningside’s Graphic Design and Advertising departments.
