RA Applications now OPEN!!

By Jaden Carney — Looking to take your leadership skills to the next level? At Morningside students often get involved in clubs and activities that are generally of interest to them. There are many opportunities ranging from: joining a new club or to growing your leadership skills, and one way to do that is by being a Resident Assistant.

Resident Assistants play a big role in ensuring a welcoming environment for students. Each floor in each residence hall at Morningside has an RA that acts as a reference for the students.

Raelee Voss, the Roadman Hall Area Coordinator and Advisor for the Morningside Activities Council, is overseeing the RA hiring process for the 2025-2026 academic year.

RA applications for the next academic year have been open since January 13. An email regarding the application and hiring process has been sent to the student body. Voss encourages people who even have a “minor interest”  in becoming an RA to apply.

Applications are due via erezlife.morningside (the housing signup portal) at 11:59 on Sunday, January 26.

When asked how becoming an RA can help jumpstart a resume, Voss said, “I believe that it gives you a good professional work setting… it shows you handle situations through communication and have effective professional teamwork skills.” Voss also notes the skills developed in ResLife are something employers look for on a resume.

In addition to RA positions, Voss also encourages students to become active members of the Morningside Activities Council (MAC), which can lead to becoming a MAC Executive Member in future years. All positions are noted as resume builders.

If you have any questions regarding the RA application process, you can reach out to Raelee Voss at vossr@morningside.edu.
