By Jaden Carney – As you stroll around Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa, one of the most beautiful things that will grab your attention is the park-like beauty of the campus. However, have you ever experienced the campus at sunset? If not, you are truly missing out.
You can walk around Morningside Campus any day and ask any student if they have a sunset photo on their phone taken from campus. You can be sure that they do, and it will showcase the most stunning colors. As a senior, one of the highlights of Morningside is catching the striking sunsets throughout the year. Even on the darkest, drowsiest day on campus, there always seems to be a breathtaking view to enjoy at the end of the day.
As the school year comes to an end, we tasked Morningside students with submitting their favorite sunset pictures taken at Morningside. We also received submissions featuring local Sioux City landmarks, places around town, and vacation destinations. One thing is for certain: they are all beautiful. Faith Beeck, a senior at Morningside University, mentioned “I think they’re very pretty and it reminds me that my family far away also gets to see the sunsets and it connects us.” Additionally, Alumnus Lacy Rhoades ‘24 noted, “sunsets were a very beautiful way to end the day after long hours of studying and classes–very relaxing at Morningside.”
