“Sisters Through the Seasons” Alpha Omicron Pi Annual Recruitment Week

By Ashley Duncan- Alpha Omicron Pi is hosting their Annual Recruitment Week that consists of three days where any girl, that’s a current student of Morningside, can come to AOII hosted events and meet the sisters.

Each year recruitment has a different theme. This year’s theme is called, “Sisters Through the Seasons.” Therefore, during the three days of recruitment, each day will have a different dress up theme for the sisters and different activities surrounding the theme. As the sisters prepare for recruitment, Autumn Aspedon said, “It makes me look back at when I was recruited and the fun that I had!”

As the only sorority of Morningside, recruitment is something huge for AOII. It is a way to attract future members, so they can carry on the legacy when the seniors graduate in the spring. “Making sure we are forming a connection with the girls who come to recruitment and making sure they know what we’re all about.” Said Sam Warren, the Vice President of Recruitment.

On Monday, September 13th, the sisters will meet in Yockey dressed up in winter attire and have winter themed activities for girls to participate in. Tuesday, September 14th will be dressing up in spring attire with more activities, meeting in Dimmitt Residence Hall. Recruitment then concludes on Wednesday, September 15th, off campus, with summer attire and activities held at one of the sisters’ houses.

“My favorite part about my recruitment was that everyone was very genuine, and they felt like true friends for life.” said Haily Rice, the Vice President of Finance.

“The best part of recruitment is getting to meet all the new girls and being able to welcome them into our sisterhood!” said Sam Warren.

AOII sisters hope for a great turn out of girls because they are looking for some fresh faces to add to the group.
