Paper Prompt (Rhetorical Situation)

The most important aspect of religion could be a few different things such as:  ultimate reality, practices, beliefs, sacred places, history, etc.  The audience I would be talking about in my paper would be the people of all different religions.  I would analyze the different religions and their followers to point out an important aspect of all religion in general.  The exigence would be what is the most important element of religion.  I would look at many definitions of religions and religions themselves in order to figure out which element is most important.   There would have to be an explanation and analyzation after I determine this in order to present my argument and backup my statements.  There will be a few constraints in this project.  The biggest one will be that there is more than one element of religion that is important to defining religion.  Also, world religions are so diverse.  It will make it very difficult to find strong similarities and call them important elements of all religion.

As of now (without in-depth research), I believe the most important element in religion is ultimate reality.  You can classify most, if not all, religions by ultimate reality.  Followers of religion believe in some type of higher power or some type of force or driving force.  Religions most of the time explain why things happen and/or why our life is important.
