The Hall of Fame Green Bay packers Brett Favre is involved the largest public fraud in Mississippi History.

Brett Favre was a former student and football player of the University of Southern Mississippi. When his daughter was apart of the University of Southern Mississippi, Brett Favre pushed government officials to donate welfare money to build new facilities.

University of Southern Mississippi had received $5 million in welfare money from the government. After the money had been sent there was text message proof of a government official telling Brett Favre that misusing the welfare money could be illegal and Brett Favre continued to push for the money.

This article is interesting to me because the person in this case was a former pro football player. I think that maybe Favre could had made enough money during and after pro football career to donate the money himself. Instead of coming up with the money himself he is in the biggest welfare fraud in the state of Mississippi

This story has legs, mostly because Favre generally seemed like a decent guy when he was QB. Or maybe it’s more accurate to say people wanted to believe he was a good guy.

The thing about most athletes is they don’t seem to be real smart with their money. Michael Jordan is one of the exceptions. So too are those who invest wisely. And don’t have a lot of friends.
