Morningside put a Homecoming victory in the books, pounding Concordia 62-6. The No. 3 Mustangs came out quick and never let up on the Bulldogs. They were up 45-0 at half; Concordia didn’t get on the board until late in the third quarter. Morningside will be at Dakota Wesleyan Oct.14.
The Mustangs picked up their fourth win of the season, 48-17 over Midland’s Warriors.
Twenty points in the fourth quarter allowed the Mustangs to pull away from Mount Marty for a 41-17 win in their home opener. Next up for Morningside is Midland, Sept. 23
Morningside dropped a five-set match to Jamestown Sunday, its first GPAC loss. The Jimmies picked up a 27-29, 25-21, 14-25, 25-20, 15-7 win. Sydney Marlow led the Mustangs with 18 kills and 15 digs. Payten Lode notched 11 kills and 15 digs, and Ola Dalach 43 assists and 10 digs. Payton Shoquist tallied 25 digs.
