King and Vilsack to debate on campus

By Meghanne Adams–
This year brings a pivotal election that can mean the difference between two very different paths for America’s future. Politicians are at the point in their campaigns where debates are heating up as time is dwindling to convince undecided voters. On Tuesday, October 9 in Eppley Auditorium, local voters have a chance to see Steve King and Christie Vilsack debate in hopes of gaining support in November’s election.

With the first Presidential debate behind us, quite a few debates are still on the horizon. One is coming to us here at Morningside College. Vilsack and King will be debating and discussing plans, views and will have a chance to defend themselves against the negative ads we have seen thus far in the campaign.

It can be difficult to get to know candidate just on negative ads, so if you’re an undecided voter or just want to get to know these candidates better, you are encouraged to attend this debate if you are a voter in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District.

The debate will take place in Eppley Auditorium at 7 P.M. and is scheduled to be an hour long.

Later this week on Thursday, October 11, Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan will have the first Vice Presidential Debate on Foreign and Domestic Policy. This debate will air at 8 P.M. Central Time.
