Homecoming is near

The red carpet to Hollywood will be laid on October 8th as Morningside kicks off its week of homecoming.

The week is full activities for students to take part.  Monday night there is an interactive game show, Think Fast, where the winner will receive $200 as the prize.

On Tuesday night, the movie “The Avengers” will be playing on the blow up screen in Yockey at 8:00 P.M.

Wednesday night is Mr. and Mrs. Morningside at 8 P.M. in Eppley, which is put on the Morningside cheer team.

Thursday night is coronation and the talent show at 8 P.M. in Eppley.  Coronation will be first with the talent show following shortly after.  The homecoming court will be made up with two representatives from the freshman, sophomore, and junior class and there will be five girls and five guys from the senior class.  On Thursday night, students will find out who will be named the king and queen of the senior class.  Voting for any of the candidates will take place on October 1st, 2nd, and the 3rd during the lunch and supper hours.

On Friday night MAC is hosting Pack the Stands in Allee gym as the volleyball takes on Doane College.  Prizes will be thrown out such as key chains, magnetic clips, smoothie cards to the Spoonholder, and an assortment of DVDs.   The game begins at 7:30 P.M.

To wrap the week up, the football game begins on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. when the Mustangs take on Dakota Wesleyan.  Following the game “Taste of Morningside” will be available for people to grab something to eat.  At 9:00 P.M., the dance will start for students.  It will be held in South Sioux City, Nebraska at the Marina Inn.
