By Maron Guimarães – As graduation approaches, Morningside’s seniors are reflecting on the moments, friendships, and experiences that have made their college journey unforgettable and unique. For many, it’s a mix of excitement for what’s next and nostalgia for the place that’s been home for the past few years.
When asked what they’ll miss most, the answer was one: the people. “I’m going to miss the amazing people who make Morningside what it is,” said Diego Ocando, a senior from Venezuela graduating this December. “The atmosphere of friendship, the teachers who make classes better, and the day-to-day with people who have become my family.”
For Diego Setton, a senior from Brazil graduating in May 2026, it’s also about the forever friendships. “I’ll miss the people I’ve met, I’ve made a lot of good friends whom I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life,” he said.
Both students also shared advice for underclassmen just starting their Morningside journey. Ocando encourages new students to take it all in: “Enjoy every moment. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so make the most of every opportunity.” Setton adds that students shouldn’t be afraid to reach out for help. “One of the best things about Morningside being small is that you can rely on faculty and staff; they really want to see you succeed.”
As these seniors prepare to move forward, their reflections remind us what makes Morningside special: the friendships, the community, and the memories that last far beyond graduation. Once a Mustang, always a Mustang. I am sure all seniors will be missed! Tell us your favorite memory (so far) in the comments!
