By Jaden Carney –The Morningside Civic Union hosted a Vice Presidential Debate Watch Party last Tuesday October 1st, 2024 at 8pm in the Lincoln Center UPS Auditorium. The students watched the Vice-Presidential Candidates, Ohio U.S. Senator JD Vance and Governor Tim Walz talk about policy issues that are on the American people’s minds.

The debate was hosted by CBS News and moderated by Nora O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan. As it unfolded, the candidates seemed to have productive discussions about many issues such as the economy, abortion, and gun rights.

The Morningside Civic Union is a non-partisan education group that looks to encourage civic engagement across campus and the student body. The Union is under the supervision of professors Dr. Patrick McKinlay and Dr. Chase Privett.

They will be hosting Satellite Voting on campus, October 24, in the Yockey Community Room.
