Fall in to Fallout

by Maren Ewertz–As someone who has watched people play the game Fallout. I was excited to see that there would be a new Fallout series based on the game streaming on Amazon..

Throughout the series, we are introduced to the characters in a clean and easy to understand way. For someone who doesn’t know much about Fallout, this made the series very easy to understand. The others that were watching it with me also commented that they appreciated the introductions to each character as it felt more authentic to them as well.

The series itself has one season so far with each of the 8 episodes lasting about an hour. When we watched it, the whole season was already out. This was our collective complaint. While we didn’t hate that we were able to sit down and binge half the season in one go, we thought they could have made much more money had they spaced it out.

There are cliffhangers between each episode that make the season unique from most other drama shows we have previously watched. However, with this season all coming out at once, we were able to know what happened next right away. Had Amazon released, for example, one episode a week, they would have been able to get hype and advertisement for the upcoming episode.

Other than that, we really liked the lighting, acting, music, and essentially everything about the show. Should there be another season, I fully expect the three of us to watch it together just as we did this season.

Overall, we would recommend Fallout to anyone who has played the game or has never even heard about it. Whether you know what Fallout is or have never heard of it, this show will keep you on the edge of your seat up until the end.
