by Hailey Barrus–If you are bored stuck indoors (and who isn’t) look no further because the famous animal loving family of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, is back on Animal Planet for season two of “Crikey! It’s the Irwins.”
This Australian family includes Steve’s two children Bindi and Robert, and his wife Terri, who have taken the football Steve once called “wildlife conservation” and run with it.
This show gives a glimpse at the Australia Zoo in Queensland, Australia, that the Irwin family owns and operates, revealing the everyday lives of the workers and, more importantly, the animals living there.
This is an exciting series, and if you are anything like me and Steve Irwin was one of your idols growing up, it is refreshing to see his family take what he left and make it even bigger and better. There is something magical about seeing the Crocodile Hunter’s children share the same passion for nature and wildlife like their father once did.
Each episode focuses on a few different animals at the zoo, or the family’s wildlife rescue hospital, and takes the audience on a journey of the good and bad times the animals and the keepers face every single day.
Whether it is the birth of a new joey koala, or surgery on an echidna that was hit on a nearby road, this show captures it all. Focusing it around Terri, Bindi, and Robert, is just a bonus. The show was recently renewed for a 3rd season and I will be patiently awaiting the arrival of it.
