There is no doubt this is news as it not only breaks a record, it also is something that is not supposed to happen. Here I am talking about paying 80 million dollars for a player. While he is not even close to being the most expensive player of all time, in my opinion, this amount is already too much for any player. The soccer world has shattered borders which we did not even know existed. Paying over 100 million dollars for talents who in the end not even always make it.

Also, it is clearly written for soccer lovers, however, it might even get a greater audience because as said, a record got broken which also grabs attention. But for me, I read many articles on this transfer already as this transfer interested me, but also surprised me. This is because this expensive defender is stepping to one of the competitors.
In my opinion, this article is missing extra details around the transfer such as how Chelsea had to make three different bids for the player, and how desperate Fofana was himself to leave Leicester already. Interesting details which I know, but not which all readers would know about. This could be because ESPN made multiple articles surrounding this transfer in the last week and they do not want to repeat themselves.
