Insurances companies have recently began using a loophole to prevent mental health coverage. There are new exemptions under both state and local government that have prevented many employees such as teachers and police officers the mental health coverage they need. More teachers than ever are quitting because of the fact that the pandemic is taking a psychological toll on this career in particular. These laws need to be revisited in order to provide proper mental healthcare for those that do the most for us.
