At the Olympic games in Paris in 2024, breaking will be an official Olympic sport. Before the skill became an Olympic talent, Red Bull had put on break dancing competitions for years. The most complicated thing with getting breaking in the olympics is figuring out how to create a culture similar to how they compete today. currently, most breaking competitions take place in a circle with a crowd around them and a live DJ. It will be interesting to see how the Olympics handles this as this is not only how they compete it is also a part of the culture of breaking.
In my personal opinion, if this style of dancing is allowed in the Olympics, why aren’t all styles?
