This story comes from the Wall Street Journal.

Last Tuesday we saw another election come and go. The interesting part about this election is the hopes for a Red Wave for the 2022 midterm but that ultimately did not happen. There were some highly contested and close races fro the United States Senate but in the end Democrats have taken control of the Senate. This comes from the Incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly and Incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez-Masto of Nevada also won reelection.

The Story from the Wall Street Journal Focuses on the House of Representatives. The United States House of Representatives fate has not been decided yet. Some highly contested Congressional Races according to Wall Street Journal are Incumbent Rep. Katie Porter D-Cali, Rep Mark Levin D-Cali, and many others. Some close races in the Arizona, Colorado, and Oregon will determine the fate of the House.

This is important to us as college students because many of these people running for office will impact our lives with their political agendas they want to get passed in Congress. One main issue that we see members of the Democrat Party running on is Student Debt Relief and Loan Forgiveness and that impact college student very hard. And Finally many college students get very politically active and control of both chambers mobilizes many college students.

It will be interesting seeing what will happen in the coming week as we see re counts and things rap up. We also will be seeing and interesting Senate Run-off in Georgia for Incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock D-Georgia and Candidate Herschel Walker. Warnock and fellow Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff flipped both Senate seats from Republican to Democrat in the last presidential election which was a big upset for Republican Party and they depend on Georgia for their electoral college votes that ultimately went to Joe Biden in the 2020 election. We are seeing history made and the poetical landscape changing.
