The Biden Administration had laid out a plan for Loan Forgiveness. This program was struck down by a Federal Judge in Texas and therefore the Supreme Court will hear the case and determine it constitutionality hopefully by early summer according to the Associated Press.

The program was going to to cost 400 Billion dollars over the coming three decades. The program had about 26 million applicants in which 16 million had already been approved. The program is being talked about right now and the pause on loan payments is set to expire here in a few months all according to the Associated Press.

Many conservative lawmakers are saying that the President and his Administration overstepped in the creation of the program according to the Associated Press.

This applies to college student like many here at Morningside. This applies because many of us have to take out loans to pay for college and regardless of what everyone thinks we are all impacted. Many students who I have talked too had gotten an email regarding this plan are kinda disappointed when they received another email talking about this program being put on pause until the Supreme Court makes a design next year.
