This story talks about a coach from New Jersey who passed the historic win number 1000. The reason that 1000th win was so significant is that make Jeff Jasper the first coach in New Jersey girls’ basketball history to achieve such a mark. The match of coach and town seems to be good one. The community says he is an extraordinary coach, Jasper however remains humble. The quote “I’ve just been in the right place at the right time,” said Jasper “I never thought anything that I’ve done has been all that remarkable.” Shows how humble and thankful Jasper is. School Superintendent Gunderson has high praise for the coach saying, “Jeff Jasper is a pillar in the Pascack Valley community.”

This is story is a good example of a feature story. This is a story that proves to be interesting because of the mile marker that the coach has eclipsed. The 1000 win mark is a very impressive mark for any coach to achieve. This is a bit of a feel good story too because of how well the coach and community fit together and respect one another.

Mars could host life as scientists find “salty waters” on the surface. The debate of whether or not life could be on Mars continues. According to National Geographic the surface of Mars is bombarded with DNA-damaging radiation, and the water has been confirmed on the frigid surface.  Scientists are still not sure the planet can hold life, as they are not sure the water is flowing on the planet. Vlada Stamenković the study’s lead author says, “That’s the thing of habitability; we never thought that environment could have that much oxygen”. Stamenkovic, a planetary scientist and physicist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory stated, “It completely changes our understanding of the potential for life on current-day Mars.” The doubts of living on Mars is carried on with the -81 degree temperatures.

Another 63 people have fallen ill after eating ground beef contaminated with salmonella. The outbreak has effected 122 people over 22 states. The beef causing the issue is distributed JBS Tolleson, INC. 33 people have been hospitalized during the event with severe infections. Thus far no one has died. The biggest retailer was Sam’s Club and Walmart. The outbreak has been found anywhere from Colorado to Kansas to Iowa. The biggest problem is the beef is sold under many different labels. The best way to decipher whether or not it is contaminated is the establishment number. The establishment number that is causing problems is 267.

This is a good story because it is a watchdog story. People will want to know this information, for some it could be life or death. Though the stores should pull the product people being aware of the danger is also important. The lead to the story is very straight forward. The lead tell you the facts and gives you the information you need to know. So in my opinion the lead is effective for the type of story it is in.

Wall Street had another tough day on Thursday, the Dow Jones closed 548 points down. The rocky morning of premarket trading, losses by midday and looked set to regain. But a major sell off derailed the S&P, Dow Jones, and Wall Street hit its highest level of the “fear gauge” for the first time since February. The debate of investing in stocks versus gold and silver has resurfaced as gold picks up three percent in value. The big losses came in energy and financials got touched by sell off, oil fell as well, and insurance also suffered losses as Hurricane Michael pummels Florida and Carolinas.

This article lacks a good lead, but does have solid content that would interest people. People follow the market very closely because they or someone they know have money invested in the stock market. The idea that stock investment philosophy might be changing could also interest people. Throughout time gold and silver have been constant, not big hits/gainer. The big thing that depends is how risky you are willing to be with your investments. The opportunity and risk varies by person and companies.

https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/can-t-spot-bot-california-automated-accounts-have-reveal-themselves-n915556

California Governor Jerry Brown has been busy this last week. The bill he signed into action was net neutrality law was reinstated. Also another bill that was added bans automated accounts, pretending to be real people. The law comes into action due to social media manipulation fears. A surprising stat is that Twitter said the company took down 9.9 million spam and automated accounts per week.  Twitter has been proactive in getting rid of spam bot accounts. The scary thing is spam bots are becoming more and more like humans in how they communicate.

The content of this article is very important to people. Everybody has dealt with and continues to deal with spam and bot accounts. This article gives people a sense of what social media companies are doing to prevent or at least limit hat the bot accounts can do. So I would say the headline is good because it draws people in because of how widespread bots and spams accounts are.

Creme de Pirouline- The first bite is a loud crunch. The chocolate flavor is very strong and delicious. The crispy texture is melting away, and the chocolate flavor takes over.  The brown straw like object, had a scent of strong chocolate.

Twinkies- Note heard chorus of “Mmmmmm”s while other ate the Twinkies. My personal experience was Wow! Hostess did a great job mixing the creme flavor and chocolate. My comment would be more creme flavor. The Twinkie left a creme trail in the bottom of the package. Also the Twinkies size has gotten smaller
