Title: Oxford High School suspect detailed plans to kill in videos, journal, authorities say

Lead: Oxford — The 15-year-old charged in the killings of four of his Oxford High School classmates recorded videos on his cellphone the night before the shootings and wrote in a journal recovered in his backpack of plans to shoot and kill students, authorities said Wednesday.

This is probably a story that you have heard about already. I had heard a lot about this already too because one of my old teammates used to go to Oxford Highschool. But I chose this particular article because it caught my eye with the title and lead. All of the other articles that I saw only really talked about the shooting and didn’t go into detail.

Although this story gives a lot about the shooting, there were a few confusing parts. In the first paragraph, it starts off by talking about how the shooter had gotten in trouble for “concerning” classroom behavior, and his parents were even notified about it. What kind of concerning behavior was it? Concerning is a very broad term. Especially in high school, I feel like you have to do something pretty bad for your parents to be talked to by the principal. It’s kind of suspicious to me.

The parents bought the firearm Friday. Why did they buy it? How were they storing it? Were they not keeping it locked up away from the killer? This is also very sus to me. It also talked about how the parents didn’t have much to say during the hearing.

This is just such a horrible and devastating thing that happened. Quite frankly it hurts reading this that someone could do something this awful. Although a bad situation, the writer did a great job reporting it.
