News Comment Week 5

The article I read is about the Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints, catching fire and injuring one of the people sheltered there from hurricane Ida. Flames on the roof of the Superdome were reported to the fire department around noon on Tuesday and put out quickly after the firefighters arrived, but not before causing minor injuries to one person in the dome. The fire was caused by a pressure washer which caught fire while on the roof of the stadium. In the article, it is mentioned that the roof was being washed because they were planning to paint it.

I think this article could have had a better lead. The lead it uses gives a little too much information in the first sentence which would be better spread out through proceeding sentences. Though, it does answer the what, when, where, and how questions all in the lead. With so much information packed into the lead, the story quickly begins repeating its self or using unneeded Information throughout the rest of the story. One thing I did enjoy is when it talked about the future schedule of the Superdome and uses a quote from an official to ensure the schedule will not change. Overall, I believe this article could be much improved with things such as better organization and a more precise lead.
