The World Tour

indexBy Diane Nguyen–Rockstar Energy Drinks presents the second leg of The World Tour co-headlined by Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens has taken off with openers Mallory Knox and Pvris. I was lucky enough to go to their sold-out show in Omaha, NE at Sokol Auditorium.

Two bands from the same music scene, sounding nothing alike, have joined together to set up an awesome tour. Pierce the Veil an emo-inflected post-hardcore outfit seems a bit rough around the edges. Compared to Sleeping with Sirens, who happen to fall on the more melodic side of the post-hardcore world. They create a perfect show with fans falling close in line with each other.

Both bands manage to create a whirlwind of emotion with their yearning and aggressive blend of metal and emo influences. As rough as they may seem to be, they are all teddy bears ready and willing to support their fans.

Nothing beats the sound of being at a live show.

There’s a moment in every fan’s life where they sing and scream to the music in their room. Then at a show, they realize that everything is different. The people you are singing with are no longer just sound but are live right in front of you.

You’re surrounded by people who love the music just as much as you do. The lights shut off and the band comes on. People go insane and you are shoved everywhere. There are so many things to be worried about such as falling and getting stepped on, knocked in the head by a crowd surfer, suffocation from all the bodies pushing against you, and getting punched in the face.

Buying general admission tickets, you secretly signed up for all of that. If you can’t hang, get out of the pit. The pit only exists so you can fight your way to the front. The fact is you paid to see those people up there in front of you and if you really loved them enough to buy these tickets, nothing else really seems to matter.

The sound of the bass fills your body. The sound of the drums fills your ears and the electric guitar fills the air all around you. Then the vocals start and that’s when the auditorium explodes. It’s the only place you want to be and you’ll want to go back, guaranteed.

The 2nd leg of their American tour began on January 23rd and will go up until March 4th. Afterwards they will then leave the country to continue their tour in Europe. The tour will then conclude on April 11th, unless more dates are added.
