MAC LogoBy Diane Nguyen—January 19th to the 23rd MAC teams up with Sara Bunker, community outreach programmer, along with other groups on campus to put on a Week of Service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

Monday from 10 am to 3 pm there will be blanket tying in Yockey. Blankets will be donated to area shelters and local hospitals.

Tuesday in the Olsen Student Center Lobby from 11 am to 1 pm E-Group will have a display up about how gender, race and class are an impact in the business world.

Wednesday Campus Ministries will be putting on a movie in Lincoln-UPS at 7pm called ‘For the Bible Tells Me So.’ The film follows the experiences of five normal, Christian, American families, as we discover how insightful people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child. For ‘The Bible Tells Me So’ offers healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity (iMBD). After the movie there will be time to answer any questions anyone may have.

Thursday people are welcome to go to the gospel mission and serve lunch from 11am to1pm. All those who go will be put into a MACtastic drawing to win a prize. If interested contact Julie Pitel at pitelj@morningside.edu. That night there will also be a poverty simulation in Yockey at 6:30 pm sponsored by Morningside Civic Union.

Friday Slam Poet Katie Wirsing will be performing in Bucks at 8 pm.

Stop in for a minute or two, maybe even ten. You’ll feel good knowing that you’ve helped the community or gained some insight knowledge on another subject. All events are come and go as you please.
