Safety Suit tour comes to M’Side

SafetySuitBy Hannah Hecht–Pop/rock band SafetySuit will be featured at MAC’s big October concert. The concert will be Friday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m. in the newly renovated Eppley Auditorium.

SafetySuit is an American pop band best known for its single “Stay” which made it to the top of the VH1 Top 20 Countdown in 2008. Their other popular songs include “Someone Like You,” “Let Go,” and “These Times.” They have toured alongside many well-known bands such as The Script, Parachute, and Daughtry.

Morningside students, some already big fans of the band, are looking forward to the concert. “I just really like their music,” says student Tyler Arensdorf, “They have great music and I’m excited to get another big band here.”

“One of the band members had alumni relatives, so that got us thinking that we should get them to come here,” says MAC President and Student Government Vice-President Spencer Eiseman, “I didn’t know about them until one of my friends introduced me to them very recently, but now I really like them and my favorite song is “Never Stop.”

This concert is the headline performance of MAC’s fall campus events series which includes acts from comedian Emily Galati (Oct. 4), a capella group Ball in the House (Oct. 7), and hypnotist Johnny Zarant.

“I think we’re doing a good job of bringing more acts to campus this year,” says Eiseman. “With a bigger activity fee and higher enrollment, we have a bigger budget to work with.”

The concert will be free to all Morningside students.
