By Jazmine Dirks ~ Spring Formal is tomorrow night, and the excitement is already pulsating throughout campus. Student Government is hosting their annual Spring Formal, and at a recent meeting Andrew Pflipsen, a faculty member who oversees Student Government here at Morningside, made it clear of what this event meant to the organization as well as old and new executives.
“Have fun, but make good choices. As a member of Student Government your choices reflect on Student Government,” says Pflipsen.
This year brings a bit of a change from previous years, the dance will be held on campus in the George M. Allee Gymnasium. That cuts the cost of bussing students down to the Sioux City Convention Center downtown.
“Our goal is health, safety, and having a good time in the process,” concluded Pflipsen.
Ladies get your dresses, and men get out your nice slacks for an event that should really be a good time for all here at Morningside. Also, a free photo booth will be set up for students and their friends to all capture a fantastic night out. With the newly elected executives for next year, eyes will be on them not just this weekend, but the rest of the semester to see what they will be bringing to the table.
Current executives such as President Kyle Bubb, Vice President Emily Lechtenberg, and Student Advocate Katie Schiltz have been showing the “newbies” the ropes of what their jobs entail.
