Best Outdoor Study Spots on Campus

By Maron Guimarães – When the weather is nice, sometimes the best classroom is the outdoor environment. Our campus has a lot of underrated spots perfect for getting work done while getting some fresh air and sunshine.

One hidden gem is the rooftop by the Krone fountains. Not a lot of people go up there, but it’s a peaceful spot where the sound of the water adds a calming soundtrack to your study session. For something with a bit more of a beautiful view, the benches that overlook Bass Field give off a relaxed vibe that makes studying feel refreshing instead of stressful and boring.

If those places are not for you, the tables outside the library let you keep your study session going while catching some sun; it is also right next to Spoonholder, so you could go and grab a coffee to help you focus or a refresher on those sunny days. And for those who like a more laid-back setting, nothing beats grabbing a blanket, heading out to Bass Field, and turning it into your personal study space. Whether it’s reading, writing, or just reviewing notes, these outdoor spots make studying feel less like a chore and more like a part of campus life, and it feels more relaxed and less stressful.
