By Maren Ewertz — Morningside’s production of the hit Broadway show Be More Chill will have its final performances this coming weekend, Feb. 20–23..
Don’t be afraid. Instead, stay relaxed about the prices. Students can enter for free with a valid student ID. Be More Chill has been performed four times as of February 17 and will have its final four showings February 20-22 at 7 PM and on February 23 at 1:30 PM.
Directed by Professor Taylor Clemens, and featuring music by Professor Shannon Salyards Burton, the play tells the story of Jeremy Heere, an anxious outcast. Alongside his best friend Michael Mell, Jeremy attempts to navigate the treacherous halls of high school and the challenges of a teenage social life.
To boost his popularity and attract the attention of his crush, Christine Canigula, Jeremy seeks help from a mysterious quantum supercomputer known as The SQUIP. This technology is programmed to help its user achieve their goals by any means necessary.

Ben Feeken portrays Jeremy Heere; Nathaniel Ruiz plays Michael Mell; Hope Russell takes on the roll of Christine Canigula; Gabriel Ruiz is The SQUIP; Seth Walker acts as Jake Dillinger; Timothy Laubach portrays Rich Goranski; Delaney Andreasen plays Chloe Valentine; Abby Schmidt is cast as Brooke Lohst; Julianne Johnston as Jenna Rolan; Roman Fude plays both Mr. Heere and Mr. Reyes; Wyatt Randeeris is Scary Stockboy; and Dana Cutshall, Helen Wobbema, and Saline Osborn as Ensemble.
