Mustang Swimmers Complete First Part of Season in St. Paul

by Josie Dike--The Mustang swimmers traveled nearly five hours to Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minn, for a two day meet and one last competition to end the semester.

Head coach Bryan Farris said, “This meet was a good one.” He added, “We had a small taper that prepared us to swim fast and a good portion of the team performed well.”

For the past week, swimmers thinned down yardage in practices but increased the intensity to conserve some energy but also get a feel for swimming fast.

Makenna Laher, team captain, said, “We have been working hard this season so having the opportunity to see where we are at on our progress for the end of the season felt good.”

The Mustangs will continue to put in the work over winter break. The team will be back on campus the December 27 for winter training swimming two times a day through January 10th.

Swimmers will return to competition in their home pool at the Hindman-Hobbs Center January 21 for a Dual against Midland University.
