Photos by Abby Koch-A tight matchup happened on Tuesday, March 2nd between two nationally ranked teams, Morningside Mustangs and Concordia Bulldogs, to decide who would claim the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament title. Junior Sophia Peppers would seal a 67-65 win for the Mustangs with a layup in the last 0.8 seconds.
The win over the Bulldogs pushes the Mustangs win streak to 20. The Mustangs have now claimed the GPAC tournament title for the first time since 2015-16 season and sixth one overall for the program.
Mustangs now wait for their pairings for the national tournament, which will be released on March 4th.
