Monday night, the Yankees did something that wasn’t done all year in baseball. The best pitcher in the MLB (Shane Bieber of the Indians), gave up 7 runs, which was more than his first 5 starts combined this year. The stout yankees offense was hot in the batters box last night scoring 12 runs.

With the victory last night, the Yankees are one game away from advancing to the next playoff series. A win in Cleveland means a better chance to punch their ticket to the World Series!

Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole pitched 7 innings and struck out 13 batters! Cole set the record for most strikeouts in a playoff game without walking anybody. That’s an amazing accomplishment for Coles first season as a Yankee.

  1. Not everyone enjoys stats, Carter. It used to be that newspapers printed box scores for all the games. They don’t have that space to give away any more.

And I am one of those people who ignore most sports until it’s time for the playoffs.
