Reflection Story #1

I put the most effort into getting a clear story through the reader. The subject of my first story is relevant to a small amount of people so trying to explain basic details is what I focused on. People don’t know about duck hunting and the importance of it to people around America and Canada.

I wish I spent more time on finding better articles. I read a number of articles but didn’t talk about a few of them in my story because they weren’t fitting. I more than likely could have found more information on better articles.

The most difficult thing was to use the information learned in class on how to write as a journalist. I’m so used to writing business papers about management or marketing that it’s made me learn journalism is really different. Telling a story has gotten easier to write, but it was still difficult in a way.

The most difficult problem I encountered while writing was it was hard to keep on track. I thought of a lot of different information I could put into my next paragraph, but it was hard to stay on one train of thought. I wanted to jump from idea to idea really quickly but I had to manage my paragraphs.
