Not so Easy Tone: News Comment #5
This week I chose an article that deals with Reebok Easy Tone shoes. Reebok grabbed my attention when they first put out the overly sexist commercial for easy tone shoes. This commercial focused on women’s but and legs the ENTIRE COMMERCIAL. Yes, it gave information that a person can tone up their legs and butt if they walk and run with the shoes. However, today Reebok made a 25 million dollar settlement over the shoes. The FTC claims that Reebok did not supply any factual science or facts that the easy tones did everything they claimed to do. Beside the fact they used fit, beautiful women for every ad and commercial Reebok came back with a statement later today.

A pretty outrageous ploy to sell shoes. But they had to know they’d pay in the end.
How does this relate to the class? A link, maybe to the court case?
I believe it relates to this class in the fact it is a bizzare law suit. I mean we talk about how stories we read, or even watch affect us, and this Reebok commercial has shown on everyones tv for the past two years. They failed miserably at getting there lead point across to the customers!!
