Amanda Knox is Free: News Comment #6

October 5th, 2011

Early this week Amanda Knox was acquitted in Italy of her murder charge. Most people are aware of the story behind Amanda Knox. She was accused of killing her roommate and of sexual assault. The story I have read on her is about her journey back to the U.S., and how much debt she is in. Her family has over a million dollars in debt to the lawyers involved in her case. They are happy she is home and may have a few options to help out with the payments. In prison Knox started to write a memoir about her life, and as most people know book deals are always a hit.

Where else could I go if I was interested in Amanda’s story, or her parents, or Italian law? Where would she get a $1 million? I heard a porn site made an offer. Add a link to something you think would be helpful, Brittany. Also, why do you think Amanda is newsworthy? Why should we care about one woman who may or may not be guilty?

She has been offered a few porn jobs, and also a few book deals. Plus, there was the Lifetime movie and she got money from that. I believe she is newsworthy because this trial has been going on for four years and shows the dynamics of Italian law vs. US law. To find out more you can go to cnn.com/amandaknox.com
