Words of Encouragement

By Diane Nguyen–So, it’s after Valentine’s Day and you spent it single and now you’re feeling down. OR you just failed a test you spent the last week studying for or didn’t study for. Maybe you’re just feeling down for no apparent reason and just feel like sulking by yourself. Well whatever the reason, here are some places to go to get some encouragement.

My personal favorite is a Tumblr account known as Positive Doodles. The account is basically full of different animals saying different positive quotes varying between relationships, self-love, school, future, etc. These quotes are all pictures so they can be saved with a single tap with your finger or click of your mouse for future look. This account is updated daily so encouragement and doodles are added everyday. You don’t need a Tumblr account to look at these doodles. So if you’re feeling down follow the link: http://positivedoodles.tumblr.com

If the positive quotes didn’t work, log onto Facebook and take an adventure through memory lane. This may be tough and cringe-worthy but it’ll help you realize that you have changed for the better. Also, looking at all of the old photos will make you remember some good times and many more to come! And if most of the old photos just made you cringe and cause you to remember that you hated everyone back in middle/high school. You will definitely be grateful that you no longer look like how you did in middle school.

Don’t feel like doing any of that? Well, when in doubt find some Adventure Time gifs. You don’t know what it is or don’t watch the show? Do it anyway. The gifs of the show, even without context, are guaranteed to put you in a better mood. Some will make you laugh or even exclaim: “WTF!” It’ll still put a smile on your face. If you’re looking for some advice, look up: ‘Adventure Time Jake gifs’ and you will find reaction faces along with some advice here and there.

If all else fails and you still are not feeling well. Call your firefly. Your firefly is the one person in the world that lights up your world more than anyone else. It is the one person you could never be mad at for no reason and whenever they walk into the room you always feel some weight of life lift off your shoulders.

I hope this article on encouragement has helped you or those around you. Just remember that things aren’t always going to be this way and that things will get better. Now, I will leave you with a quote that I use to start my day, everyday:

“I know you’re sad, so I won’t tell you to have a good day. Instead, I advise you to simply have a day. Stay alive, feed yourself well, wear comfortable clothes, and don’t give up on yourself. It’ll get better. Until then, have a day. Right.” -Anonymous
