Gyllenhaal plays Lou Bloom, a cameraman looking for the best stories and fabricates some pieces to make stories of his own.

Gyllenhaal is the bright spot in Nightcrawler. The production crew did a great job of giving Jake a creepy look to match the unsettling character Gyllenhaal plays. Lou Bloom is a man with good intentions, striving to be the best at what he does. He researches and practices his craft but something inside him pushes him to extra limits that go far beyond the norm for public broadcasting.

Nightcrawler was a 2014 release that generated good buzz around the movie industry. If you are interested in seeing the thriller than you should be able to purchase it at select retailers.

The best thing about Nightcrawler was the pace of the film. For every down moment, director Dan Gilroy would amp the pace back up meaning the audience never had to wait long for another bend in the road. One thing that kept me wondering throughout Nightcrawler was the type of stories Lou would film and bring back to the news service. Some were very graphic and I’m sure could not be aired on television but since this was a movie it makes sense. However, something about that part left me uncomfortable.

Overall Nightcrawler is an interesting film that holds your attention well. It gives the audience a thrill while also leaving you uneasy and curious.
