Fall Sports on their Off Season Grind

By Andrew Schnebel ~ Its been a couple months into the winter workouts for the fall sports teams. The football and volleyball teams have been working out almost every weekday since the second semester started.

Trevor Strong who plays defensive back for the Mustangs says, “It’s been a really great offseason overall. The team has its goals set high and everyone has bought into what we are trying to accomplish.”

The Mustang volleyball team has been working hard in the offseason as well.  Anastasia Ott of the volleyball team says, “Our winter season is going really well. The girls are working really hard in the weight room and at 6am conditionings. Were ready to start practices after spring break and just continue to get better.”

Both teams are coming off conference championship seasons, both are looking to repeat next fall. Repeating is not an easy task to do, especially with how competitive the GPAC conference is. The football team has been working out four times a week and running twice a week in the mornings.

Both teams begin their spring practices after spring break.  The spring practices will continue on through the end of the semester with scrimmages in between. Both teams are looking to make strides to repeat as conference champs next fall.
