Sioux City Eats

By Maron Guimarães – Eating out at a restaurant can be a great way to release a little bit of the semester stress, especially with exams coming up. Most students have busy days, often balancing work, practice, and class all at once. At the end of the day, nothing beats going out and eating at a restaurant with friends, or even by yourself.

Even though Sioux City is “smaller” than other college towns, we have access to some fancy restaurants, such as Crave, where you can go for special occasions like first dates, celebrations, and birthday parties. If you feel like you need a sweet treat, Peachwave is the place for you. With a variety of frozen yogurt to choose from, it’s a self-service spot where you pay for the weight of your bowl, and you can top that with the wide range of toppings that they offer.

If those spots aren’t for you, you can go for a quick and cheap bite at La Juanitas, where they offer real Mexican food, such as tacos, burritos, and a fantastic pineapple water to top it all off and hydrate you on those hot, sunny days. If you want a place to eat sushi and Japanese food, Japanese Steak House is the place for you. They offer sushi, and they also do Hibachi-type cooking, where the chef will cook in front of you. It is a whole different experience, and it’s a great experience to share with friends and family.
