The men are sitting at 23-9 overall, averaging 87.0 points per game. As a squad they shoot 38.6 percent from behind the arc, 33.6 rebounds per game, and 17.4 assists. Morningside will play Cumberland’s University on Friday, March 22, at 7pm.

Cumberland’s men’s basketball team is 28-4 overall, averaging 88.0 per game. They shoot 35.7 percent from three, 34.9 rebounds per game and dish out 15.3 assists per game.

Morningside senior Jack Dotzler thinks the matchup will be exciting. “They’ve got some explosive guards and play a similar style to us so it should make for a fun game to watch.”

“Our last game, the crowd was insane and such an added weapon for us. It would have been impossible to win that game without it, so I am hoping we get some fans out for this next game,” Dotzler added.

The game of basketball comes with many emotions. You can see all 10 players at one time and see every emotion that is going across their face. The game goes back and forth so much, Dotzler said they need to remember that.  With basketball comes ups and downs.

“Our goal for this next game is just win. That’s all our mindsets at this time of the year. If you put yourself in a position to win, you can live with the results.”

Fifth year senior Aidan Vanderloo backs up Dotlzer: “Our goal for the next game is to find a way to win. We play a team we feel like has a very similar play style as us. We are going to have to play well to win and our focus is finding a way to do just that!”
