by Chloe Krommendyk–Fashion is a never-ending cycle, and while trends have definitely changed over the past four years, some fashion trends we thought had been buried have re-emerged and become popular again.
Sophomore Jennie Riedman said, “I like to keep up to date with the new fashion trends, and I am surprised but not disappointed with some of the returning trends. I am already switching my closet over and adding some new pieces that I am excited to wear.”
The biggest changes that are being seen in fashion have to do with jeans. For a couple of years, ripped jeans seemed to be the biggest trend, but now bell bottoms and bootcuts seem to be the big deal.
Most college students are aware of new fashion trends, and some are all for change, like Riedman. Others are against them.
Sophomore Emma Hannasch is one of those who is against certain trends. She said, “Bell bottoms and boot cut jeans should most definitely not be coming back. My closet consists only of skinny jeans, and I will not be going back to my middle school days with the boot cuts.”
These changes seem to be a burden for some college students, because as they want to fit in with all the trends, their bank account doesn’t always allow them to do so. When the trends are constantly changing, students feel as though they have to keep up to date, for example, by getting rid of their ripped jeans and switching them out for bell bottoms and bootcut jeans.
