Photos by Abby Koch-Crosstown battle between Mustangs and Briar Cliff University Chargers in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) tournament semifinals took place on Saturday, Feb. 27. The strong defensive movement in three quarters by the Mustangs secured a 72-59 win and a ticket to the GPAC tournament championship.
Senior Sierra Mitchell, with her 20 points for the night, now sits at fourth for the all-time scoring list. Junior Sophia Peppers’ 16 points placed her into the 1,000 point club, making her the 31st member in the women’s program.
The Mustangs will face the second-seeded Concordia Bulldogs on Tuesday, March 2nd to conclude the tournament.
