Who is Marnix van Exel?
Marnix van Exel is from the Netherlands where he lives in a small town named Doorn. He is the second oldest in his family, being 19-years-old, with 3 siblings: an older sister, who is 21-years-old, and 2 twin brothers, who are both 18-years-old. Marnix was born on December 5th 2002 in Hilversum, which is about half an hour from where he lives now in the Netherlands.
Some of Marnix’s hobbies are playing soccer, playing sports in general, and traveling. So it’s not surprising that he ended up being a student-athlete at Morningside University. Marnix is a sophomore and he is a center back on the soccer team. He also has a job working for Campus Safety and Security and he is majoring in Business/Marketing.
A fun fact about Marnix is that the United States is the fourth country he has lived in throughout his live. As mentioned before, Marnix was born in the Netherlands where he lived till he was 6-years-old. Then he moved to Thailand for his father’s work and lived there for three years. When Marnix was 9-years-old, he and his family move to Poland, again for his father’s work. They lived there for two years and moved back to the Netherlands when Marnix was 11-years-old. And now, Marnix is starting his second year living in the United States.
Marnix’s favorite countries are Spain and Thailand. He wants to travel later and see more of the world. He doesn’t know yet what he wants to do for a career after school. As a kid, Marnix always wanted to be a professional soccer player, which he sometimes still dreams about doing. His favorite soccer team is Ajax, the soccer team of the Dutch capital: Amsterdam. His idol in the soccer world is Virgil van Dijk, who is a Dutch professional soccer player who plays as a centre-back for Premier League club Liverpool and the Dutch national team.
