Baby Nancy is the first doll toll inaugurated into the national toy hall of fame. Baby Nancy is the first black baby doll to have an afro and other authentic features. This doll was created after the Watt riots in California. It was started by a non-profit black community self-help organization. Still to this day, it is considered a national landmark doll and continually helps with the breakthrough of cultural differences.

I feel this is huge for society at this point. It is showing that we are caring for all of those who don’t matter the skin color. I also didn’t know they had a national hall of fame and it presented a new avenue to read about and see what other things are already inducted. I also like how it made the front news page because the headline was very eye-opening and made me want to read something other than the campaign news.

  1. Definitely a feature, Jake. Timely in that racial issues are so dominant right now.
I would have thought Barbie would be in the Toy HOF, but maybe she’s not a doll.
